
Prof. Valter Longo
Dr. Valter Longo is the Edna M. Jones Professor of Gerontology and Biological Sciences and Director of the Longevity Institute at the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology. He earned his PhD in Biochemistry at UCLA under Dr. Roy Walford and completed postdoctoral training with Dr. Caleb Finch. His research focuses on the biological mechanisms of aging and their translation to human health, including dietary and genetic interventions. Longo is best known for developing the fasting-mimicking diet, shown in clinical trials to promote health and longevity. He is the author of The Longevity Diet and leads foundations in Los Angeles and Milan.
