Marco Benitez
Raised in Mexico, Marco Benitez began his career as a Tae Kwon Do champion before transitioning into biomedical engineering. His work with pharmaceutical companies like Roche and Novartis deepened his understanding of how data could transform healthcare.
Motivated by the need to make health metrics more accessible and actionable, Marco co-founded ROOK, initially focused on wearable technology for fitness. Under his leadership, ROOK evolved into a broader health platform, integrating with healthcare and insurance sectors. Alongside co-founder Jonas Dücker, Marco helped develop ROOK’s core API, which harmonizes data from multiple wearable devices to support personalized wellness and healthcare applications. He believes standardized, accurate, and accessible health data is key to improving lives. ROOK’s mission is to help companies better connect with biomarker data—enabling them to validate behavior, and drive meaningful, real-time health decisions.
